Congratulations one trying out Linux. I have been running Edubuntu on my home desktop for 3 years, and I love it! I still have it set up as a dual-boot between Linux and Windows ME, but I don't use the Windows side anymore. With the help of WINE, I can do about anything with Linux that I could do with Windows (or Mac).
I also have a small Linux thin client network set up in my classroom using 3 outdated computers.
I spent a lot of time searching the Ubuntu forums for help with any setup or troubleshooting. http://www.ubuntu.com/support

Congrats on taking the plunge into linux! I've been using linux for more than a few years now and I love it! I'm actually also in the process of convincing my school district of the uses of linux especially on the netbooks they are planning to purchase. Good luck!
