Hey, I am so glad I was able to alert you and your kids to the $100 laptop announcement and video, Bob! I am also wondering if when the first country announces they are buying laptops for ALL the students in their nation will be a wakeup call for educators around the US. Hopefully it will be!

Your comment that Mark and other students have gotten used to the media coverage of Room208 reminds me of something I read that Robert Bork wrote a number of years ago. He noted that a community can only tolerate so much deviation from a “norm” until the norm is redefined. Normal weekly events have been redefined as normal for your kids– which is so cool– as you say, just another part of the global conversation and dialog in which they are engaged. And the intrinsic motivation part that you point out is key too, probably even more important! Thanks for another great Bit-by-Bit podcast and sharing your thoughts, Bob– have a great few weeks leading up to Christmas break! I’ll look forward to your Dec 2nd podcast on WorldBridges!
