208The Past 2 weeks we have worked
on Multiple
Intelligences to find out how many
intelligences
we have. The first paper [we read on it] was called, "How Many Ways are You
Smart?" The second paper was called "What are My Learning Strengths?" We had a
lot of fun finding out what our Multiple Intelligences were. We also had to
graph the second paper [results]. It was hard and fun at the same time. We had
to start over with a second graph. This time we collected the graph and put the
words on the bottom of the page and we had to title the graph and put our names
on it. Also this week, we read the
book, Thank You, Mr.
Falker by Patricia
Polacco
. In the story, Patricia had troubles reading
unitl in Jr. High [when] a new teacher named Mr. Falker helped her out because
she was getting teased. We really enjoyed this book. Patricia is a great author
and illustrator. Another thing that happened on our first day of school that
connects with this story is [that] Ms. Lang came in and talked to us about
bullying. She brought in paper hearts and whenever the girl in the story she
[told] to us got bullied, she would rip the heart and whenever she didn't, Ms.
Lang would color in the heart with a marker. This week was
great! After the first day of school,
we started our homework routines at school for two weeks. On 9/19/05, we will
bring our homework home for the rest of the school year. Mr. S and Mr. I thought
that we should do it at school because they want us to learn good homework
habits. We are glad because we need to practice our homework so [that] we [can]
get good at it. Finally, this week we
started reading an awesome book by Louise Sachar. The book is called
Holes . Mr. S
gets talked into reading the book Holes
every year. The book is about this kid who had
a choice to either go to jail or Camp Green Lake. If you want to hear the rest
of the story, your should read the book (before you watch the movie). We make a
lot of connections and predictions. We really enjoy the book
Holes.
